ARTrocity The 2008 Young Ambassador program at Latrobe Regional Gallery commenced on the 9th of April. The program involves four ambassadors, between the ages of 16-25, who have a keen interest in the arts, and have named themselves ARTrocity. The aim of the program is to encourage the production and appreciation of art by and for the youth of Latrobe City. ARTrocity hope to achieve this with innovative, exciting schemes that will enhance the Gallery's prominent role in local arts. The group have backgrounds in various mediums including painting, drawing, graphic design, tailoring, photography and writing. For 19 weeks they will assist in the preparation of events, exhibitions and community programs offered by the Gallery. This is the third year of the program. In previous years the Young Ambassadors have contributed to the arts in Latrobe City through staged exhibitions and events, the developing of public forums, running of workshops and the production of DVD's.
