School Holiday Program

11:00am - 12:00pm Australian Totems

To celebrate Australia Day participants will view the culturally significant indigenous exhibition from The Cbus Collection of Australian Art, Celestial Earth, as inspiration for this workshop. In this workshop participants will create a wall hanging using various natural objects and an assortment of wood materials.

1:30pm - 2:30pm Chinese Dragons

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, participants will view the contemporary Chinese and Australian artists touring exhibition Zhongjan: Midway as inspiration for this workshop. In this workshop participants will create a dragon puppet using paper and mixed media.

Family: 3-6 Years, Tuesday, 24 January 2012
All materials are supplied. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the session.
Cost: $10 per session or $17 for both sessions.
Places are limited and bookings are essential.

Kids: 7-12 Years, Wednesday, 25 January 2012
All materials are supplied. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the gallery foyer before and after each workshop.
Cost: $10 per session or $17 for both sessions.

Art After School
Kids Program 7-12 Years

9 Week Program - Thursdays commencing February 2 until March 29

The Art After School program is designed for children aged 7 to 12. It encourages development and expansion of creative skills in a relaxed atmosphere. The aim of this nine week program is to allow participants to explore art mediums with the aim of producing an original work at the end of the nine weeks. All materials supplied. An adult is required to walk the child in and out of the Gallery.

Cost: $110 or $100 Gallery Friends member.
Bookings and payment essential by Friday, 27 January.

 

Creative Edge
Youth Program 13-16 Years

9 Week Program - Tuesdays commencing 31 January to 27 March

Creative Edge workshops are designed for youth to encourage development and expression of creative skills in a relaxed atmosphere. Sculptural works, wire construction, and themed art workshops provide a variety of activities that will add to participants' knowledge of materials and techniques.

Cost: $110 or $100 Gallery Friends member.
Bookings and payment essential by Friday, 27 January.

 

Free Family Fun Activities

Latrobe Regional Gallery offers a variety of free activities for families with children of all ages, throughout the year. Families who may not have experienced the gallery before are encouraged to drop in for a chat with the friendly staff who can provide information on exhibitions and programs.
