Rosalind Atkins

24 July - 19 September

The falling leaf is a whisper to the living.

English proverb

For many years the engraving of images of trees on finely grained blocks of wood has made up the dominant part of Rosalind’s art practice. The subjects vary, from the trees she is familiar with, to the ones she chances upon. Often others will lead her to a particular tree because her work has triggered a memory or association.

In all the years Rosalind has been taking notice of trees she never ceases to be amazed by them. They are fundamental to our well being. The health of our forests impacts on the planet, the tree we pass by the gate witnesses the comings and goings of our lives.
