Works from the Latrobe Regional Gallery collection

11 April - 7 May

A Latrobe Regional Gallery collection exhibition, including works by Victor Majzner, Peter Booth, Treahna Hamm and Euan Heng.

The works selected for this exhibition present simple forms that allude to primordial entities and our placement in time. Connections are made between past and future, universal symbols and site specific landscapes, Australia and its link to Asia.

The paintings and prints by Peter Booth, Victor Majzner, David Gatiss, Michael Pearce, Treahna Hamm, Euan Heng and Kaye Green make specific references to geography, Boab trees, creation stories and the life forms of eggs and molluscs, while the sculpture of Bronwyn Kemp suggests early dwellings or futuristic domes. Evolution presents works that have strong visual symbols such as Bronwyn Oliver’s Coil, a work that anchors thoughts of beginnings and origins.
