The Weight of Stone - Frank Mesaric
25 September - 21 November
Frank Mesaric’s recent body of work takes as its starting point references to things around us and highlights the characteristics in them that are in fact universal, by being attached to some of the meanings and the messages of paintings appropriated from the past.
An empty hospital bed placed in a darkened corridor paired with Rembrandt’s ‘The Anatomy Lesson’ speaks of our inescapable mortality as well as our misguided or arrogant belief that science has the capacity to cure all.
