Mindful Things
4 June – 31 July2011
Mindful things is a group exhibition about perception, introspection, identity, emotion and the unconscious mind. Susanna Watterston's laser cut acrylic
sign boards use visual puns to highlight personal pathways, choices and introspective thought processes. Karen Sandon's photographs explore the construction of identity and her place as a contemporary white woman within
an indigenous and multi-cultural Australia. Ann Copeman uses techniques of journaling and writing onto her body to visually explore her mind and her own identity. Joyce Nowrungsah's sculptural piece considers the connections and contstruction of memory.
Susanna Watterston, Interior Road, 2010, laser acrylic and glue. Collection of the artist.
Opening Celebration: Friday, 10 June, 6.00 pm. All welcome. Please RSVP to 5128 5700.
