A survey of painting and drawings 1972 - 2007
A NETS Victoria touring exhibition developed by the Ian Potter Museum of Art, The University of Melbourne
24 July - 19 September
Trevor Nickolls is a senior indigenous artist and seminal figure in Australian contemporary art. His artworks are powerful figurative and symbolic explorations of alienation and the urban landscape, and have informed many of the critical, intellectual and aesthetic positions vital to questions of identity and Aboriginality in Australia.
Other Side Art: Trevor Nickolls is the first major museum survey of this influential artist’s practice and is curated by Perth based independant curator and writer, Michael O'Ferrall.
