Raised in the small Gippsland township of Woodside, David has played an active role in arts and cultural development in Melbourne (Naarm), Australia, establishing two artist run spaces and teaching at tertiary institutions before relocating to the EU in 2015. David worked in the commercial art sector in Germany for several years before undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Helsinki, Finland, in 2018. Working as an independent curator, educator and writer, David relocated to Riga, Latvia, and took over the direction of a local arts organisation, LOW Gallery. Having returned to Australia in 2023, David is looking forward to connecting with community, drawing on his experiences both in this region and further afield.
