In our commitment to providing quality education within the arts we have developed a range of innovative educational programs to meet the personal, professional and academic needs of people across a variety of learning levels. The education programs developed by Latrobe Regional Gallery have been designed to assist students and teachers in their enjoyment and understanding of the arts. These programs have been designed to be used in conjunction with the exhibitions displayed at Latrobe Regional Gallery. These programs lend themselves to the exploration of many curriculum-relevant themes for pre-primary, primary, secondary, VCE and University. early years The early years education programs focuses on developing the interpretative skills of younger students to aid them in their journey of understanding the Arts. The one hour programs engage students with artworks through an interactive tour followed by a related presentation where students use imaginative expression to respond to artworks and performances.
All sessions $2/one hour session middle years Middle years programs encourage students to use their critical thinking and enquiry skills to discuss and debate the ideas presented in artworks and performances. The middle years programs involve theory and practical activities that facilitate learning on the concepts and themes observed in art. All sessions $2/one hour session vce VCE programs are a valuable resource for students studying art related VCE subjects to explore contemporary art ideas and approaches while engaging with original artworks. The VCE programs are flexible in their approach and can be tailored to assist students to achieve individual VCE outcomes. All sessions $2/one hour session adult education Presented by the Director/Curator, professional practice provides an insight into the possibilities beyond art school within the arts industry. This program is designed to inform emerging artists and prospective arts professionals about the public gallery system. Available throughout the year upon request. special needs education Able hands is a multi-faceted program that uses tactile gallery tours, hands-on art workshops and art forms such as movement, music, and poetry to enable individuals with special needs to express themselves in the gallery environment while learning about the language and creation of art.
